Men In Black: The Album
Why I Bought It: My brother dumped it on me.
Why You Should: It's got some catchy singles, and Alicia Keys appears on it, well before her debut on Songs in A Minor.
Only Get One Shot: "The 'Notic" (The Roots)
Oz
WIB: The album, like the show, is straight gangsta. Plus, Pharoahe Monch is on it.
WYS: This is the ruggedness, and the talent assembled, considering it's a comp is riiiidiculous. (Wu-Tang Clan, Snoop, Trick Daddy, etc.)
OGOS: "What is the Law"
The Source Hip-Hop Music Awards 2000
WIB: This stopped me from purchasing a whole bunch of crappy albums just because of the single.
WYS: It'll do the same for you, and it's a nice lil' party record.
OGOS: "Wild Out" (The Lox)
Star Wars Trilogy, Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire
WIB: Because I was a huge dork (and still am, really).
WYS: This stuff is classic. You know these themes. You know you'd like to have them on call.
OGOS: "Binary Sunset"
Super Mario 64
WIB: The first time I played "Dire, Dire Docks," all I wanted to do was keep playing the level for hours because the music is so dope.
WYS: There's really no reason if you weren't as blown away by the game as I was.
OGOS: "Dire, Dire Docks"
Topdog/Underdog
WIB: I saw this on Broadway when Mos Def was performing in it. I am all about supporting this play.
WYS: The play is awesome. The music was ill, and completely supports the development of story.
OGOS: "3-Card"
