Classic Material

There's a girl like music
out there somewhere.
She'll surprise me
at least once
each time we're together,
no matter how long
together
happens to last.

The trick
is to let myself listen
long
& well
so she doesn't end up a lost classic
strewn about on the shelf
with all of the average records
I've given a spin.
